Souljah

Sad.. Downtrodden...Lost... Feeling helpless... Worry... Doubt... Fear...

All weapons of defeat...

Enemies in the BATTLEFIELD OF THE MIND...

I have been reading the book, "Battlefield of the Mind" by Joyce Meyer and have been completely blessed by its contents. I have taken the time to reflect on myself and my ways of thinking really seeing how my thoughts have become strongholds in my life. Those "enemies" or "weapons of defeat" have caused a whirlwind of pain and a plateau. I know there are others who may be in the same situation, but it is so important to remember why we are here on this Earth. Reasons are to be a testimony and witness to the blessings God has in store and what he has already done. Tell me what successful, seasoned, and wise Christian has never gone through turmoil and feelings of defeat??

None! They would be lying if they said they never have.. So this is really God's way of preparing his soldier. Preparing him or her to fight the good fight. With that being said, any soldier knows it's essential to be protected with the Full Armor of God.
Ephesians 6:14 says,
"...to STAND FIRM with the belt of truth and the breastplate of righteousness..."
This simple verse is way deeper and can be broken down further. Number one thing is to stand firm...be unwavering and hold on! So when you get to the point of telling yourself you can't go any further or questioning God, "Why this is happening?" His Word says to stand firm. Don't give up (insert name)! The belt of truth is considering what makes a soldier of Christ...He or she does not conform to the things of the world (Romans 12:2) but delights in truth (Proverbs 12:22)--"The Lord detests lying lips but delights in those who tell the truth."
Alllrrreeaaaddy, I can see where we may need to prepare ourselves better. Those little "white lies" are just as it states...LIES. Plus all the self-help, psychologists, therapists, and life coaches will tell you that it's easier to tell the truth than lie. Better said than done right? Especially if you have been  s t r e t c h i n g  the truth for some time now.

I'm back!

It's been so long since I've blogged and now I am finally taking the time to sit, gather my thoughts, and just WRITE! I came across a website that's packed with blog posts of life lessons, skills, and thought-provoking ideas/questions. What sparked me the most was the 30 Day Challenge for Personal Growth. So, I'm choosing to make conversation with someone I rarely speak to or a stranger for the next 30 days. (This should be interesting!) If you get a call, you know why... :)

OH, and here's the link: http://www.marcandangel.com/2011/12/25/30-challenges-for-30-days-of-growth/

Let's begin to grown and change for the better by the renewing of our mind.

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will."
                                                                                                               ~Romans 12:2

UPDATE!

Update! I've been writing, just not posting. Soon to come. :)

Monday, September 6, 2010

I have not written in some time, typically because I have not taken the time to gather my thoughts. My life right now... I would say is transitioning, yet I feel as if it isn't at all new to me. I am now a senior in college, and I now feel that sense of accomplishment when a long overhauled task is near completion. Thinking back 3 years ago, it seems that time has really flown. Another reason for me not writing is probably because no "one" has struck that inspirational nerve. Writing from pure inspiration is the best way to write but what about when things seem to have change, yet time was not put in to document  it? I write about love so much, I forgot to take into account other important aspects of my life. Family...friends...life in general. So consumed in love and the "idea" of it. Living like that is living in a dream when reality what keeps you sane. I will never forget a "twitter conversation" I had and that thought hit me like a ton of bricks. I was living my life in a lie that I myself had composed. I guess being your own worst enemy is true for me. I was holding myself back from my revelation of the truth.
